Expo and Packet Pick up

Expo, registration and packet pick-up location to be determined, Saturday August 31st from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Packet Pick-up and registration will be available Sunday, September 1st from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., location to be determined

Last minute packet pick-up will be available from 6:00 a.m. until 7:15 a.m. along 23rd Avenue west of Colorado Boulevard and east of the Denver Zoo, for the 10 miler, and from 5:45 a.m. until 6:45 a.m. at the start in Cheesman Park for the 5 mile.

 

Parking and Transportation

Since this is a point-to-point course you will need to determine your best option for getting to and from the start and finish lines. Here are some options:

Carpool with other runners.  Leave one car at the Denver South High School Parking lot.

  • 10 milers drive to the start with other runners, park in the lots near the Denver Zoo or the Museum of Nature and Science.  This is approximately a 15 to 20 minute drive
  • 5 milers drive to the start with other runners, park at the Denver Botanical Gardens at 11th Ave. and York St. Walk west on 11th Ave. to Cheesman Park. This is approximately a 10 to 15 minute drive.

Drop off at the start

  • 10 milers near the start at 23rd Ave. and Colorado Blvd. Your driver can then go to the Denver South High School parking lot, park and walk south approximately 1/2 mile to the finish in All City Stadium located at Franklin Street and Florida Avenue.
  • 5 milers near the start in Cheesman Park at 8th Avenue and Franklin Street. Your driver can then go to the Denver South High School parking lot, park and walk south approximately 1/2 mile to the finish in All City Stadium located at Franklin Street and Florida Avenue.

  • 10 Milers, it is roughly 4 miles between those two points. You can do a warm-up run to the start and return to your vehicle following the post-race festivities.
  • 5 Milers, it is roughly 2 miles between those two points. You can do a warm-up run to the start and return to your vehicle following the post-race festivities.

For an additional $8 you can reserve a bus ride from South High School, located at 1700 E. Louisiana Ave., Denver , CO 80210, to the start line before the race or you can take a bus back to the start after the race. Bus reservations must be made by August 26th. Your name will be placed on the bus manifest for trip verification.

Regardless of where you park, please do not
leave valuables visible in your vehicle at anytime.

Pre-Race Information

There is no race day registration, only bib number, timing chip and t-shirt pick-up will be available for pre-registered runners only.

  • 10 Miler pick up will be along 23rd Avenue just west of Colorado Boulevard and east of the Denver Zoo. Volunteer check-in and information will also be at this location.
  • 5 Miler pick up will be inside Cheesman Park near the 5 Miler starting line.

Baggage Check-In

  • 10 Miler, At the start on 23rd Avenue. Please remove your baggage tag from the top of your bib number (not your finishing stub on the bottom of the bib) and attach it to either a bag that you've brought or a small grocery-sized bag supplied by the race with your clothing. Put your clothing in this bag which will be transported to the finish line.
  • 5 Miler, At the start in Cheesman Park. Please remove your baggage tag from the top of your bib number (not your finishing stub on the bottom of the bib) and attach it to either a bag that you've brought or a small grocery-sized bag supplied by the race with your clothing. Put your clothing in this bag which will be transported to the finish line.

Starting Line

  • 10 Miler on 23rd Avenue, west of Colorado Boulevard and east of the Denver Zoo. The race starts at 7:30 a.m.
  • 5 Miler in Cheesman Park north of 8th Avenue. The race starts at 7:00 a.m.

Aid Stations

  • There will be a total of 3 aid stations for the 10 Miler and 1 aid station for the 5 Miler serving water and electrolyte replacement drink at approximately 2.5 mile intervals. Portable toilets will be provided at or near the aid stations.

Additional Course Information

  • Each mile will be marked.
  • For safety reasons we ask you to refrain from running with dogs and baby joggers/strollers during the race.

Course Closure Information

The race course will be controlled by Denver Police, traffic closures and course marshals. Please obey all direction along the course. There is no time limit for the 5 mile race.  The 10 mile course will remain open for all runners participating under the 13:00 minute/mile pace.

The course will open to traffic at each mile in 13:00 minute increments. If you are slower then the times listed above, you can continue the race along adjacent sidewalks but will lose police support. You are expected to obey all traffic signs and signals.

Spectators

  • Spectators are encouraged to watch and cheer on the runners throughout the race.  See the course map to determine your best viewing options.

Post-Race Festivities

  • Food and refreshments will be served outside All City Stadium near Franklin Street and Florida Ave.

Awards

Age group awards are courtesy of the Runners Roost. Men and women age group awards will be presented to the top three finishers in the following age categories; 19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80+.
